"The Weekly News" Provider E-Blast
ELRC Region 19 sends out a weekly e-newsletter to all participating early care and school age programs in the region along with partners, advocates, and other ECE stakeholders. The e-blast provides relevant updates on ELRC 19, PA Key and Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) initiatives as well as resources, tips and event listings. County Provider Network Meetings
ELRC Region 19 convenes quarterly meetings in the county to discuss topics relevant to providers and ECE stakeholders in those communities. Along with sharing updates and resources, meeting topics focus on community engagement and kindergarten transition. Event details are posted in the e-blast.
Local Leadership Council
ELRC Region 19 convenes a group of experts, providers and stakeholders from around the region to consider ELRC operations, OCDEL policy changes and issues relevant to the ECE community. This group provides feedback to OCDEL on behalf of the providers, parents, and children in the region.
Early Literacy Outreach
ELRC Region 19 assumes the lead role in our region in working with the Pennsylvania Library System and OCDEL to promote and implement the annual PA One Book, Every Young Child Campaign, connecting volunteer readers with early childhood settings to read to nearly 10,000 children each year. Staff also assist with recruiting state legislators and other political leaders and business leaders as guest readers in the PA One Book campaign.
